Black Cohosh (Actaea racemosa), which is also known as Black Bugbane, Black Snakeroot, or Fairy Candle is a small, herbaceous, flowering plant. It is native to Northern America, growing throughout the continent in wooded clearings.
Ancient tribes and early settlers alike found the herb useful for alleviating menstrual cramps, as well as some menopausal symptoms.
