Siberian Ginseng (Eleutherococcus senticosus) is a small, thorny, woody shrub, with small black berries and fragrant roots. It has seen usage throughout Central and Eastern Asia by traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean healers, with traditional Siberian healers and Eastern-European healers following suit.
References to the beneficial properties of the plant have been widely recorded for thousands of years, starting in China some 2000 years ago, reaching Eastern Europe some 800 years ago.
